(Exclusive interview).- Alfastreet CEO Tjaša Luin Peric spoke about the current situation and developments at the company in an interview for the Focus Gaming News YouTube channel.

Tjaša Luin Peric has spent 16 years at Alfastreet, the Slovenian producer of electronic casino games and equipment, and has been CEO since 2010. Despite the current challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, she remains optimistic about the industry’s, and the company’s, future.

“I’m positive about the future – we just have to be patient,” she said in an exclusive interview with Focus Gaming News.

She recognised that online gaming was likely to grow particularly among a younger audience but said: “Personally, I don’t believe land-based players will move to online casinos. I believe that land-based casinos offer something that can’t be compared to playing at home. If you ask me to play blackjack at an online casino or on our machine, it’s a completely different game. You don’t get that excitement.”

She also highlighted the importance of the social aspect of land-based casinos, saying: “Going to get some drinks, meeting friends. In my personal opinion, it’s a bit like choosing between going to the gym or training at home. It’s a big difference.”

On recent developments at the company, Luin Peric said: “Alfastreet has the largest portfolio of cabinets but in the last years we’ve really been investing in development to bring something different to the market and all the results in the last couple of years tell us that we’re going in the right direction.”

The big news from Alfastreet this year has been the unveiling of a new cabinet, Verso, which was launched at ICE London.

Ms Luin Peric says there are still some tweaks to be made but that Alfastreet expects the cabinet to give the market something different that will contribute to the company’s future growth.

“We wanted to do something very different.”

She said: “We wanted to do something very different. It was a very big challenge for the company to make a good cabinet that will work on different floors. It was very challenging for the designers to make something very different on the one hand, but also to keep it operator- and player-friendly.”
