According to information released by the Illinois Gaming Board, the state’s sports betting handle had a slight decrease compared to April but remained above $500m.

US.- Illinois’ sports betting handle came in at $507.3m in May, according to the Illinois Gaming Board.

The figure is a drop from a peak of $633.6m in March and $537.2m in April but made May the fifth consecutive month with a sports betting handle of more than $500m.

Sports betting revenue was $36.2m, down 16.9 per cent from $43.6m in April. Retail revenue was $24.7m (up 3.3 per cent from April), while mobile generated $482.6m (down 6 per cent).

The tax proceeds were $5.4m. So far, the state has received more than $31m in taxes from sports betting this year.

Best performers for online sports betting

DraftKings scored the highest online handle in May at $166.2m. Second in line was FanDuel at $155.6m, while BetRivers came third with $76.7m.

As for retail, Rivers casino recorded $12.2m in wagers, Casino Queen $3.8m and Argosy casino $2.6m.
