Exclusive interview.- Las Vegas, like all gaming hubs internationally, continues to feel the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic but Eduardo Aching, vice president for international gaming operations at Konami Gaming, is starting to see more optimism for an emergence.
“People are getting more optimistic that we’re going to see a better future very soon,” he told Focus from Las Vegas.
In an interview for the Focus Gaming News YouTube channel, Aching emphasised how Konami has had to adapt and learn along with its customers over the past year.
“We understand the changes that our customers had to make,” he said. “Konami had to adapt as well to provide a better service and support for them.”
Aching believes that overall the industry responded well to the crisis.
He said: “Casinos adapted pretty well to having to working with a limited amount of machines, limited amount of operations, timing, the curfews and several restrictions for every country.”
He added: “The main component is that everybody has understood very well that the safety for employees and the customers to go to the casino is priority number one.
“They put in place several actions to make sure employees and customers would feel comfortable going to the casino. They really did put strong processes and security in place.”
“Our main commitment to customers is to provide support to them on reopenings.”Eduardo Aching, vice president for international gaming operations at Konami Gaming.
A lot of Konami’s work has been focused on helping casinos prepare for reopening after various lockdowns.
“When you reopen a casino you just don’t turn on the machines today and tomorrow everything works well,” he noted. “There’s a lot of preparation that needs to be done.”
“We are working tirelessly to provide new products and content.”Eduardo Aching, vice president for international gaming operations at Konami Gaming.
The impact of the pandemic aside, Konami continues to maintain its momentum when it comes to developing new products and content and rolling them out.
Konami continues to roll out its SYNKROS casino management system as several operators took the opportunity to make an upgrade to their casino management system during the Covid-19 pandemic.
