Detroit’s three casinos posted $108.1m in aggregate revenue, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

The three casinos – MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino Hotel and Greektown Casino – started operating at full capacity only after June 22, when Covid-19-countermeasures were lifted.

MGM led the market with 44 per cent of all revenue ($46.3m), while MotorCity came in second at 35 per cent ($37.2m). Greektown generated 21 per cent ($22.3m).

Despite a 2 per cent decline from May, table games and slots at the three casinos generated $105.8m, just short of June 2019’s $117.5m (they were closed in 2020).

Retail sports betting generated $2.3m in revenue from a handle of $24.3m. The three venues contributed $8.6m in gaming taxes and $12.6m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments.
