Singapore to remain in lockdown until June
Casinos remain closed until at least June 1 as country ramps up fight against Coronavirus.
Singapore.- Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has extended the lockdown across the city-state until June 1 as part of efforts to fight against Coronavirus.
Two weeks ago, the national government announced measures with only essential services and key economic sectors permitted to continue operating until May 4.
According to the World Health Organization regional chief, Singapore currently has the highest number of reported Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia.
In line with the measures, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa have both closed their doors and suspended all integrated resort services.
Hotel reservations were cancelled and guests already booked into the hotel were relocated since the closure period began.
