Philippines.- Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte, is to reassess lockdown measures in the country, with many hoping he will being to ease restrictions.
Businesses across the country, including multiple casino operators in Manila, are eagerly awaiting news that they can reopen to the public following widespread closures as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) incorporates the Manila region, Laguna, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Zambales.
When asked about the talks, The Manila Times reported that Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque Jr, said: “It is the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases that decides on that and you know the President consults everyone, the Department of Health and other experts, respected doctors.”
Duterte recently confirmed the lockdown extension for the country was to be extended until further notice.
