K League opener watched by millions on social media

South Korea.- Millions of people around the world watched the opening game of the K League season on social media, according to figures released today.
The match between Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Suwon Samsung Bluewings took pace on Friday (May 8th) and was viewed by 3.4 million fans on Twitter and 234,000 more on YouTube.
The opening game, which took place behind closed doors, was particularly popular in Turkey which accounted for 18 per cent of all viewers on Twitter followed by Brazil (15 per cent) and Spain (9 per cent).
The football division’s remains 2020 matches will be available on television and other digital platforms in 36 countries, many of which for the first time.
The league recently announced television deals with multiple countries due to leagues and tournaments in other countries being cancelled due to the Coronavirus crisis.
