Paid leave for City of Dreams Manila employees
Non-management employees were given one month’s paid leave to assist financially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Philippines.- City of Dreams Manila has given non-management employees one month’s paid leave to assist staff financially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Melco Resorts-operated casino complex has been closed due to Coronavirus lockdown measures since mid-March.
During this period, many employees used their annual leave allowance to ensure they were paid while the casino remained closed.
City of Dreams Manila COO, Kevin Benning, said: “These are measures that Melco and its management team are undertaking to help ease the burden on our colleagues whose well-being is of paramount importance.
“The announcement follows the earlier response of the integrated resort to the government’s call on the private sector in addressing the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We hope that this latest initiative of Melco, along with the advance release last month of the 13th-month pay, will help alleviate the challenges that our colleagues may be facing in these unprecedented times.”
Earlier this week it was reported that Melco Resorts had chartered a flight to take Philippines workers stranded in Macau back to their home country.
