Century expects a loss of HK$20.8m for the six months ended Sep 30
Century Entertainment has issued a profit warning predicting a loss of approximately HK$20.8m ($2.7m) for the six months ended 30 September 2021.
Cambodia.- Hong Kong-based Century Entertainment International Holdings has revealed it expects to record a loss of approximately HK$20.8m ($2.7m) for the six months between April to September 2021. The company attributed the increased loss to the Covid-19 pandemic and delayed re-opening of New Casino at Dara Sakor.
The Dara Sakor casino was originally due to open in January but the delivery of essential equipment was delayed. The venue finally opened on November 4 and is expected to be fully open by February. It is still unknown how many tables will be assigned to the unit as it will depend on the framework agreement.
In 2019, Century signed a deal to operate gaming tables at Sihanoukville but then switched and signed a deal with Lion King Entertainment to operate four gaming tables, mainly baccarat, at a new casino in Dara Sakor. The location has 20 mass gaming tables, seven tables for niu-niu poker, 10 tables for baccarat, one table each for blackjack, sicbo and poker, 25 VIP tables, 50 EGMs and a Chinese restaurant.
Century Entertainment reported a fair value gain on promissory notes of approximately HK$11m that had been recognised for the six months ended 30 September 2020.
