AGEM Index declined by 45.71 points month-on-month in January

Asia.- The AGEM Index, which measures the performance of gaming suppliers’ stocks, declined by 45.71 points month-on-month to 925.87 in January. The figure represents a 4.7 per cent decrease. Compared with the same period last year, the index was up 229.80 points.

In the most recent period, nine AGEM index companies reported declines in share prices, amid a broad market decline. As a result, three companies contributed positively to the index, while the other nine contributed negatively.

The biggest contributor in January was Japan’s Konami Holdings Corp, the parent company of casino equipment firm Konami Australia Pty Ltd and US-based Konami Gaming Inc. Its shares rose 11.1 per cent, leading to a gain of 16.69 points. index.

The biggest negative for the index was Aristocrat Leisure Ltd, an Australian provider of slot machines and digital game content. Its broader shares fell 7.4 per cent, sending the AGEM index down 35.24 points.
