Following the example of other countries and cities, Poland’s state lottery has announced it will launch draws to encourage people to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Poland.- The state lottery has announced it will launch a National Vaccination Programme Lottery, which will run from July 1 to September 30.

Olgierd Cieslik, CEO of the state lottery operator Totalizator Sportowy, said: “Money or material prizes are to encourage the undecided to vaccinate and fight the pandemic so that as many people as possible are vaccinated.”

Eligible participants must be over 18 age and have been fully vaccinated. Each will have four chances of winning, and there will be prizes daily, weekly and monthly as well as the main prize.

On an everyday basis, 500 participants will win cash prizes worth PLN 200 (EUR 44.2). Weekly draws will offer sixty cash prizes of PLN 50,000 (EUR 11,058) and the chance to win one of 720 electric scooters. The monthly draws will offer six cash prizes of PLN 100,000 (EUR 22,117) and six Toyota Corolla cars.

The final draw will take place on October 6, with two cash prizes of PLN 1m (EUR 221,170) and two Toyota C-HR cars to be won. The total prize pool is over PLN 22.7m (EUR 5.02m).
