The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the instruction to prevent any scandal that may affect the team’s reputation.

Australia.- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is determined to keep its player under control, after the Indian Premier League (IPL) sport fixing and betting scandal.  The Supreme Court of India appointed the Lodha committee to punish the liable parties involved in the IPL betting scam, suspending Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for two years and banning ex-CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and Royals co-owner Raj Kundra from participating in cricket related activities for life.

The Indian cricket team, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was in Australia over the weekend to play the One Day International against the Australian team and learnt about the prohibition on their way to Melbourne from Brisbane, where the tournament was held.

BCCI President Shashank Manohar and Secretary Anurag Thakur, were worried that members of the team would be seen at a place not suitable for a national player, especially since they would be staying at a five-star hotel in Melbourne which houses one of Australia’s largest casinos.
